The Red Rock Large Assault Pack is just what it sounds like- it is a larger version of their popular assault pack.
They have created an even better version of the original that has 4 expanding compartments for all your gear, without becoming bulky or overbearing.
This pack makes a great bug-out bag or 3-day pack. This pack is very rugged and spacious making it ideal for hiking trips, tactical missions, or for emergency personnel.
The Red Rock Large Assault Pack has 4 expanding compartments that can store up to 35 liters of storage, with zippers and organizers in the three larger compartments. The back panel can also hold up to a 2.5 L hydration bladder (not included).
The pack is easily adjustable for added comfort and a secure fit, with contoured mesh padded shoulder straps, waist and sternum straps for even weight distribution. The pack also has MOLLE webbing straps to aid in your individual needs and customization.

What We Like About It
This pack is a good value for the price. We like that is has 4 main storage compartments with clam shell openings. It has a lot of storage space with up to 35L of storage and great MOLLE compatibility.
This is what some customers have said about this pack:
One customer wrote, “I’m a full-time student and a teenager, this backpack solves everything you want.
I carry my books and a 15-inch laptop everywhere I go, and also I always carry all my stuff as I’m a computer science student and I’m always prepared…”
Another satisfied customer wrote, “I originally looked at the Red Rock assault pack. I found it to be too small for what I wanted in a Go/Bug Out bag. I did come across the large assault pack at the 2013 NRA convention. Much better. This is a sturdy, well-built backpack. It has plenty of room and lots of places to store stuff. The main cavity is about 17-18” tall and expands out 5-6 inches. Enough room for me to lay 4 full sized MRE packs horizontally, with room for about 2 more.”
What We Don’t Like About It
The 4 large collapsible compartments can hold a lot of gear, but we wish they had more built in organization. Currently only the 3 largest pockets have any organizers, and it really only includes a few zippered pockets and dividers.
The bag is on the lower end of tactical backpacks, it is a good value for the money but is not as sturdy as more expensive options as is obvious by the fact that it is made of 600 Denier polyester instead of 1000D.
Overall, the Red Rock Large Assault Pack is great value for your money. The large 35L storage capacity and 4 collapsible compartments offer great options for storing gear. The pack includes MOLLE straps and can hold up to a 2.5L hydration bladder.
For a fully adjustable pack with comfort and storage capacity on a budget, the Red Rock Outdoor Gear Large Assault Pack is an excellent option.
