Overview

The Plan-B sling pack is designed to be worn over one shoulder, with the ability to quickly sling the pack to your front for easier maneuverability and gear accessibility. The strap is ergonomically designed to be worn from either the left or right shoulder with no gap on your back, making for greater comfort and less strain on your back.

When slung to the front, the pockets are designed so that they face the user when in this mode for quick access, regardless of what shoulder the pack is on. Wearing a sling pack also makes shouldering a long gun much easier.

Specifications

The Plan-B Sling Pack is made of Invista 1000D Cordura for rugged durability. It is also water resistant with PU x2 water repellent coating. The full pack is 19.75”L x 8.75”W x 6.25”D and weighs only 2.4 lbs. The pack is customizable with full MOLLE coverage.

It has one main compartment (19.75”L x 7”Wx 5.9”D) with a padded, movable internal divider. It also features one smaller pocket on the front with a patch area.

The pack includes many features for storing gear on the outside: pockets on the side with elastic sewn on the top for holding water bottles, compression straps that cross to hold large objects, large sternum pockets to fit multiple rifle/pistol magazines, side flat-pockets for paddle holsters.

The pack is also intelligently designed with extra features to hold your test, such as a small top zipper to pass through tall objects such as antennas/ barrels, and full MOLLE webbing for attaching holsters or magazine pouches.

The pack is also full hydration bladder compatible, fitting up to a 2.5 L bladder. It also had two carrying handles on the top and side of the bag for other carrying options.

What We Like About It

Sling packs bring added convenience to your tactical pack. The Hazard 4 brand takes it a step further by designing a pack that can comfortably be worn from either shoulder. Traditionally, sling packs are worn from the right shoulder, which can be limiting depending on your situation. The pack is small, but designed for optimal gear carrying.

This is what we found that customers have said about his pack:

One customer wrote: “Very Comfortable to wear much better than the Malaga. Can buy Dividers to maximize space in the bag. Two Carry handles top and bottom. Lots of Molle so there is room to grow
you can roll up excess straps with the velcro wraps.”

Another satisfied customer wrote: “Let me begin by saying this pack is nearly perfect in every way. I just the Plan B over the others for these reasons….size, I didn’t want an overly large pack for a quick grab and go type of situation such as the range, and emergency, or any other type of unforeseen circumstance. I chose the multicam because I had a few components not only in the multicam family, but also flat dark earth, coyote, and OD green from my years in the Marine Corps, so they all blend in fairly well.”

What We Don’t Like About It

Although the pack comes with some padded removable dividers for the pockets, we feel this pack lacks in pockets and true organizational options within the pockets. The zippers don’t seem to be as high of quality as found in other packs, and the zipper track flap covers aid in making the pack more weather resistant, but the design makes them get in the way and you have to push them out of the way to use the zippers smoothly.

Conclusion

Overall, Hazard 4 has designed a great option for a tactical pack. The Plan-B is designed to be slim, easily maneuvered, and comfortable.

The pack is very customizable with the ability to choose which shoulder the sling will be worn on, and all the MOLLE straps provide endless possibilities as to how you will organize and carry gear on the outside.
